Rating: ★★★★☆

You might be wondering why this BJ’s received a rating of 4/5. The main reason this BJ’s lost a point was due to the lack of service at the end of the meal. Although the restaurant was packed, our waiter continued to wait at other tables even though we finished our meal. He even caught the multiple glances that we gave him as he went to other tables. Other than this nuisance, the rest of the service and meal was impeccable.

We ordered the clam chowder in a sourdough bowl and the chicken parmigiana. The clam chowder was delicious, rivaling that of Chowders. However, the dug in bowl was not the volume I would expect in a bread bowl. The volume of soup resembled BJ’s standard soup offering. The bread bowl was also tasty and toasted. The chicken parmigiana tasted better than the last time it was ordered at the Natomas location. It had a nice kick in the sauce, and the chicken was juicy.

Overall, BJ’s at Arden proves to keep the quality of food at a high level. However, better service still resides at Natomas. If you are looking for good food and don’t mind mediocre service, BJ’s at Arden will do the trick.
